attempted to place an order with Cissbury Leathers on Oct.3rd(this year)through their Website. The transaction seemed to fail at the checkout stage,so I rang and made the order next day, explaining the problem with the Website order.I was assured that this happens sometimes with on-line ordering, and all was o.k.Subsequently,it transpires that my credit card had been debited with the on-line order, and also with the telephone order.I contacted the company who assured me that the amount would be refunded to my account.I was also told that the item I had ordered was not in stock and would be despached as soon as it was available,I took the company's word on this.Up 'till now I have e-mailed,and rang Cissbury Leathers at least ten times to resolve these issues, non refund of my money, and non appearance of my goods. So last week, having been told that my refund had been dealt with-not true-and the goods were still not in stock,I requested, verbally, and by e-mail,to cancel the transaction, and all monies be refunded.I again was assured that that would be sorted.Up until today my credit card account has not been credited with a refund (400euro).So people beware of this firm,if this is how they deal with customers.I had thought it was a reputable company,but.....

Or to give a more balanced and punctuated other side. I have always found them very helpful and knowledgeable.

Everyone has issues occasionally and I think this is the first issue I have ever heard about them. No business is squeaky clean.

Instead of being a Cnut why don't you give them another try. You never know you might be surprised.

BTW I have nothing to do with this company at all other than I have bought some kit from them

I have used this firm before, with no issues.I have been very patient-two months,so I don't know what giving them another try will achieve.I had said to them that I would post my experience on any and all bike fora I subscribe to,so that's what I'm doing.!!

Write to them, state briefly what has happened, the facts only and no opinion. Send it recorded delivery and confirm the date that they receive the letter.

Tell them that if they do not refund the outstanding monies within five working days you will pursue them via your credit card company under section 75 of the consumer credit act.

If you do not get your money back within the allotted time contact your credit card company and instruct them to pursue the monies on your behalf. This will take a number of weeks and will involve filling in some forms, so it is best if you can resolve it between you and the company.

Think this is the same Cissbury Leathers (Visordown shopping partner) see panel on left of screen.

IIRC saw on another forum (Gixerboyz?) about it going into administration or something (may be wrong as can't find the post) whatever happened delivery took ages.

Have run retail shops for 10 years so realise every now and then something goes wrong, an order is not shipped for whatever reason or somebody promises a customer something that then is not done.

Horrible position for you to be in and poor service and communications leave you fuming (me as well) - As above contact them by recorded delivery stating your case calmly, demanding full a refund by a set date or pursue thru card co. or small claims court.

Sometimes a retailer will take your money knowing it's not in stock thinking he can get one from the wholesaler, the wholesaler delays a bit, the lies start as the retailer doesn't want to refund you thinking he can deliver your order soon so keeps you hanging on.

My ideal of a good retailer is not someone with great service 99 times out of 100, it's how they deal with the 1 in 100 problems - in this case not very well.

Good luck.

It never seems to amaze me that your mums would allow some of you to ever leave the house!

always contact your credit card company at first sign of a problem. They will stop payment to the questionable provider. The phone number is on your statement or you can look it up on line.

Never trust any company that takes your money before it delivers the goods.

Yeah that's good advice stick. I always do a quick search if I'm dealing with a new ( to me) company and am planning to order by mail. Have saved myself loads of hassle that way.

Fidel you could put something about it on Martin Lewis' MoneySavingExpert forum as well. That has a huge readership.

apparently it's taken you ten days figure that one out...

THere is a lot of good general advice and opinion here for anyone dealing with an online goods purchase.

On the other hand, it's interesting to see how much intrest can be generated from the digging up of an old bone.

My friend has had some similar problems with em... waiting one month for goods to come.

Cissbury Leathers thats bunch of thiefs, they charged me for a goods which they not delivered. And don't refund money.

I placed an order with them over a month ago and it still has not been delivered. I have emailed them many times to ask when it will arrive and they reply by saying that they are waiting for more stock. Surely if it was out of stock when I placed my order then it should not have gone through? Maybe I have just been unlucky but it seems to me like such a badly run business. I would avoid this shop and go to the many more reliable and professional sites.

Just an update they have now given me a full refund. It was all-in-all a bit of an inconveniance but they are a reputable company I must have just been unlucky.

I've placed an order recently - didnt even know I had ordered anything.

I had items in my basket and went through the check out but cancelled before completion. I was surprised to see a debit to the same value come out of my paypal, to a random email address nostep@hotmail.co.uk - chased it up and the figures match those in my basket at the time.

15 Emails later to both Cissbury and this email address.... and I'm still out of pocket.

Paypal are on the ball though - so disapointed - my BIG Xmas gift to my other half was in this basket.... it's now January.

I ordered a kinky leather outfit from them. I had trouble, contacted the Office of Fair Trading and sorted it out right away.

Comeonsasha is the fat wanker Mark that owned the place. It is the same name he used on eBay to sell his shit. The shop has closed down now but Mark Withey still runs Cissbury retail but works from his home in Angmering. It is in the roundabout in the A259 opposite the Roundstone pub next to the Scout hall. If this twat owes you money then pay him a visit

I have seen another complaint about this same retailer...I think those who are in support should not be too quick to judge. Just because your experience was good does not necessarily mean they are good. Maybe you got them on a good day. Thank God I haven't dealt with them, and after reading this, do not intend to deal with them

Your say
