overjoyed with their low low quote last summer - much higher level of cover, lower excess, more extras and cheap premium (for me anyway, on a big bike) compared to anyone else, saving me a minimum of 50% each time.

today I ring up to ask to add my brother for 6 months - he's 30, riding for 10 years, 3 points, and at a prior address had a theft claim that wasn't worth much, about 1500 quid. He's never had a fault accidemt, has a few years NCD and is a professional driver (lower risk).

extra premium? £450 !!! jesus christ, I only paid £600 for the whole policy for me, a 26yr old (at the time), less experience etc!!

that's just nuts!

so now when I sod off overseas for a few weeks my bike won't get ridden

I've been reading a lot about Ebike from you guys. i know Carol Nash can be a bit silly with chragin so much for adding a named rider, but they are just the broker. couldn't you go to the insurance company direct?
Since my accident *(that wasn't my falt!!) on Xmas Eve, i can not falt the service i have got from them at CN.
they give free legal cover for insurance claims and hooked me up with an excellent solicitor. stick with em mate. if you ever have to make a claim against someone elses insurance...you'll be glad you did!

he doesn't - he's got his own bike and car.

it was gonna be a favour for me, cos I hate a bike to go more than a week or two without at least a short run - keeps things in better working order in the engine, looks after tyres, prevents brakes going brown etc

will have to just teach me mum how to disarm the alarm and start the engine instead, and run the engine once a week in the garage. and convince her to take on the extra responsibility

does his cover allow him to ride other insured bikes? My Carol Nash policy does. So if you have cover and he has too you may be OK and it'll cost fuck all.

TPO but being a snobby type, I'm of the school of thinking that if yer bike is worth more than the premium and excess combined, you're a fool to rely on TPO.

If he has an off, or a hit n run, etc then I'm fooked with a few grand on finance to cover and no transport when I get back.

I'm not prepared to take the risk. I'm confident nothing will happen but it's a risk I'm not prepared to take.

plus it'll be kept at an address 115 miles away for the duration, negating theft cover.

pain in the arse innit

or do the 'bend it, you mend it' stuff. He's getting free miles on yer bike - the least he could do is take it easy.

Man, I'm just full of answers today

Try Wicked quotes and always had a decent price of them.

Renewal came through yesterday - few points, a ban, theft of bike last year, multi bike policy, TPF&T, commuting

Comes in at just over £300

Also had a very quick payout after the bike was stolen, about 4/5 weeks in all, they sent an offer, I countered and they paid in full.

I'm afraid I must also big up Ms. Nash. Getting insured on my Fazer and RS125 for £350 TPFT for a full year is impressive! Especially when you've just turned a mere 20. 3 years NCB mind.

I will be (confirmed as of today) working as part of a company who provide motorhomes to a handful of factory riders, of various teams.

Drive to circuit, set up, chill out on a paddock-pass for the race weekend, pack up, drive to next one, repeat til summer break.

Not doing the tests or season opener, though the company is - will be joining them in Le Mans and doing the European rounds til the end of the season.

Missed out last season to a more experienced driver but promised to fill the next vacancy they have.
13 months later I got the call :smoke:

Thought it was just me. Whenever I've phoned the podgy pygmy she always seems to mishear "Can I have a quote for bike insurance" as "I'd like to buy a chateau in the Loire please".
