Because of whats just happened in India, and also Egypt and Bali a few years ago. Is anybody thinking twice about taking that holiday on a a sun drenched tropical paradise that has obvious under currents of hatred towards westerners just below the surface??

Well fuck them..I am still going to the Isle of Man whether the locals hate us taking over their Island for two weeks or not!!! ha!!

Wouldn't bother me in the slightest, you can't live your life in fear.

When I was heavily into diving I did them both, you will enjoy it, especially if diving. I did the red sea twenty odd years ago before it became like it is today. The diving then was exceptional, and the place had not been touched.

If you are into diving and want somewhere a bit exotic thats not well known. Try the Musandam penninsula. Its actually part of Oman but seperate if you know what I mean. You can get their from Dubai but itis really difficult to get a permit if you arent actually living and working in Oman. Shoals of hammerheads..shoals of eagle rays.. steep steep drop offs into the abyss.... fantastic drift dives that are not for the faint hearted. ( I once went from 23 meters to 60 and couldnt stop myself even by inflating my bcj completely, my pp of 02 was right on the limit, I still have a copy of the profile off my computer) had to rinse my wetsuit after that one...and not just to flush the salt water out!

Anyone heard anything about Iraq or Afghanistan, I've seen a cracking deal for a fortnight in Helmand.

I'm always careful now with holidays, it was really noisy when I went to Yugoslavia a few years back. I'll never understand how the fishermen made so much noise doing their shelling

I’m not allowed to have any of these as my avatar, so here they are on my sig instead. However, I now can't add any new ones

Did you ever hear anyone say “That picture had better be banned, because I might look at it and it might be very damaging to me”

Prefer the opposite direction myself, Mexico, Cuba etc. You feel a lot safer because as tourism is so important to their economies the locals know that if they hassle a tourist the local police will shoot them...
