Any bike cops out there?

Got talking with a mate about becoming a bike cop (waits for tirade of abuse to quieten down...) and thought I'd get comments from anyone out there who does it..

Can you join up directly into traffic or do you need to 'walk the beat' first? If so, how long until you can get onto bikes (roughly)??

Minimum 2 years and then you can apply.
Don't expect to get in, I guess average starter would have 5 years at least before they would get the nod.

It ain't all that as far as jobs go AND IT IS A JOB ! you don't just swan round grinding the odd peg when it takes your fancy, work first pleasure if you get 5 mins off.

...shit job too if you ask me.
