Animated .gifs...not animated.

Just really noticed this. At work, all those that have fancy animated gifs in their signatures here are animated.

At home, both IE and Firefox don't show the animations, just a flat jpeg of the first frame, I guess.

Is there something I need to do to get gifs to animate on my home PC?

what program do you use to open them?

Um. I'm not opening them in a program, just viewing them within IE/Firefox.

there's a setting in your Internet options that says "play animations", if you turn it off guess what happens

That's set in IE [I can't see that setting in Mozilla] but the animations still don't play in either.

Are you running a firewall?

There should be a setting to allow animations in there.

Yeah. ZoneAlarm. I've had a look but nothings jumping out at me in terms of allowing animations. I'll keep looking.
