Hi guys...

I haven't been on here for a while, but have just replaced my CB350s with a CBR600, so thought I might plug my auction for the old CB...

You can find it here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=330225952667&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=014

I’ve had this bike for 4 years and it’s been superbly reliable as I’ve brought the mileage up from 18,000 to 30,500. It’s coped with some long journeys from Manchester to Dorset as well as a year of commuting 20 miles each way.

During that time I’ve done the following:

Serviced regularly, (new plugs, filters and oil)

Front brake overhaul (spare parts – extra hoses and calipers will be included in the sale)

New battery

New chain and sprockets

2 sets of new tyres

2 sets of fork seals

krauser pannier racks fitted (lockable pannier boxes included)

givi topbox mount fitted (choice of 2 boxes – not included in auction, but £20 each if required)

New rear shocks fitted for last MOT

Over £300 worth of bills included (only a fraction of what I've spent over this time)

Good points:

Tax and test!!! Cheap run about. Always starts (though may need a little time if it’s been left for a long time) Still good for 100mph if the wind’s helping a little! Engine doesn’t knock or miss a beat once warm. 33bhp legal. It’s a lucky bike… I’ve been riding it for 4 years and haven’t had any nasty spills or speeding tickets! 2 sets of keys for the bike and panniers, V5 present and TAX till end of June and MOT until July 17th!

Bad Points:

To be honest, it’s rather knackered and in need of TLC…

Chain and sprockets are very worn (wouldn’t recommend long journey)

Rear tyre is most probably illegal, though safe enough for a local dry journey

brake pads are probably getting low. Front brakes stick a big when it’s been left for a long time

Exhaust (5 years old, twin pipes) are getting a little rusty and blow a little on the downpipes (just a blob of weld needed) though are generally one of the bikes better features!

Has been dropped a couple of times, so a few scrapes and headlamp a little wonky (though passed MOT)

Drinks a little oil

Fork seals need replacing again (probably worth getting 2nd hand forks for it)

A few small scratches on the tank

Key doesn’t fit helmet lock

Small burn holes in the bottom of one pannier box due to being mounted too close to exhaust pipe. – will soon burn through on the other box.

SLOW PUNCTURE IN REAR TYRE – which means it needs pumping roughly every 10 miles, if you’re considering riding it home.

I think that’s about it. As one of the few CB350s around with T&T it would be a shame to use it for spares, though if you’ve got a spares bike it should be cheap and easy to keep on the road for a good while longer.

The white sticker on the seat is a momento to poor parking that resulted in a £120 fine last summer. I paid the fine, but kept the sticker, which should be easily removable.

How much do you want for:
1 - whole bike?
2 - motor?

cheers
