How comes Bemsee don't go to Silverstone anymore? Wasn't it a regular fixture a few years back (before I started racing)?

A number of reasons I believe from the quality of the track surface, the noddy chicane through to the inability of the circuit to keep the restauarant open beyond 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon when everyone is there all weekend.

That and not opening the paddock until Friday morning, meaning those travelling up on Thursday night have to unload their vans in the car park outside the circuit in order to get some sleep, load up again on Friday morning, drive 800m and unload again.

Oh and it's a wind swept sh!thole!

I was there in 2004. I remember it being intensely cold and there was nothing open all weekend

But for BSB you get to use a different track configuration and they kep the restaurant and the rest of the facilities open.

I bet you also don't have to queue up overnight to be let in to the circuit first thin in the morning on the first practice day.

Yeah I remember bumping into you in the med centre when we were trying to keep Stu upright (non alcohol related for once, he too was a victim of "that fucking chicane"!)

Am I the only person who liked it? I passed Steve Jordan there to get my first ever championship point in '04
