I believe your Katana was extremely unhealthy. Apparently, the 1100 version of the Katana (which you tested) was able to run the quarter mile at 11.05sec @ 123.64mph (Cycle World february -83). That would've been enough to at least keep up with the GT40. Even the 1000cc version was able to do the 1/4 mile at 11.32 sec @ 120 mph quarter mile.

Are you sure you didn't test the 400cc version ?

What a laff! This Top Gear phenomena has people dribbling over the absurdly expensive cars for how fast they go. "My 99 R6 will beat that, cost me jack" I always say. To my surprise, no one realises that.

Who cares about the braking bit. Of course cars break better than bikes, how much more rubber do they have. So who cares if they lose there. But slowing down isnt the thrill. Rather you gotta lean that mother into the corner or your dead, unlike a car where you sit there and turn the wheel and get a slight jolly on, but nothing compared to hanging your knee and arse off a bike, not even close.

In my riders course years ago, they showed us tests that even trucks stop quicker than bikes. Dont know how true that is, but who cares.

People who get off on those cars are total wankers, Jeremey Clarkson especially, and his bike hating bafoonery, is a total boof head knob.

i would like to think that my ducati 916 would beat all the cars in the zero to 100 and 0. In my mind thinking the bike is lighter i wonder why it would not then beat the cars. I guess four wheel contact is better than two...
