Talkback: Unofficial: Stoner signs for Repsol Honda

Stoner to Repsol Honda will mean Dani out of a ride in my opinion. Dovi will stay as he is a career Honda rider and a good back-up. Honda ultimately must be frustrated with Puig skulking around the garage.

I envision Pedrosa going to Yamaha (minus Puig), can’t really see him at Tech 3 but that would be interesting, it’ll be Edwards/Pedrosa, maybe this would be good for Dani, Edwards could bring out his personality, but with his Red Bull sponsorship this might be difficult. But that can always change.

What I think might be likely is Fiat will drop their sponsorship with Yamaha, and in desperation they’ll pick up Pedrosa to lure in a big name Spanish sponsor ala Movistar. There will be a rift in the garage and the wall will still be in place, but I can’t see the negative impact this will have on Lorenzo, surely it’ll just spur him on.

It is true what they say, silly season is definiately earlier every year.

of course he's going to Honda....that's why Ducati have been so keen to get the bike rideable for anyone else that might be in the team next season...Pedrosa is out of the Honda squad next year and Stoner is the replacement....makes sense as Stoner is quite short too and it means that Honda wont have to alter the height of the shelves in the pit garage.

If this is true, I would have thought Nicky Hayden and Jorge Lorenzo are rubbing their hands together!?

Nicky's probably still at Ducati next year. He seems to be getting stronger, and if he can get some good results through this season then Ducati surely wont want to lose both their factory riders, especially with the Pramac boys underperforming.

Rossi and Hayden back together, somethingthat has been friendly and successful in the past. Add that Stoner may not gel with the Honda straight away, ditto Pedrosa on a Yamaha. Lorenzo and Hayden would both fancy the title, although you wouldn't bet against Rossi on any bike. I'd expect Lorenzo to be quicker over the season than Hayden, but as 2006 showed, and F1 is showing at the moment, it's not always the outright quickest who gets the most points. Either way, I think if Hayden ca keep a top ride for 2012, and the electronics are cut with the 1000cc engines, we could see some fireworks.
