Proper bullsh*t .... he'll not retire until he wins a race or two more, he looked happier than a long time on Sunday as he started to get some feel for the Ducati.

Rossi has already wrote on twitter 'ciao guys, the rumors about my retirement at the end of the year are not true!'

So as Timpster has said, a complete load of bollocks. It's an F1 journo at the telegraph that should know better. He's got his name and story out for all the wrong reasons. He's basically just got himself the Tuesday P1 for Dick of the Day.

That would be actually a refreshing idea for him, why not?! Cut the job for a while like others did in past and come back with fresh, maybe different perspective on whole this motogp racing stuff and himself. He's young. A year~two in WRC or WSB and then comeback.
This quit news is of course as breaking as quick in quit but an interesting idea of break. Everybody need it at some point.

Whether he retires or not his record for 16 years in GP is 105 wins which is twice as good as Casey's and Jorge's 10 years and Danny's 11 years with around 40 wins each.

Well according to an article on the MotoGP website Preziosi is giving total control of the direction of the bike to Burgess/Rossi. It hasn't always been that way it would seem and was a source of Stoner's frustration.

They are talking about changes to the engine. Not much detail but it sounds like adding some stroke and reducing bore. Cam timing could have been addressed quite easily and I don't imagine that is one of the changes. They claim the power delivery is too fierce. Most in the know realise that a linear torque curve is all important and is best achieved without any ECU and fly by wire control to flatten an otherwise bumpy curve.

What I can't understand is how they don't consider the swingarm a working part of the frame or that it has no influence. They ditched the CF frame but are still running the CF swingarm, go figure.

Rossi has nowhere to go in MotoGP and if he can't make it work with Ducati I reckon he may make a sideway move to 4 wheels at a less serious level. I give him one more year at Ducati provided that they look like they are in a position to challenge for the number 1 plate next year.

Bob, so are you saying your style of insulting people is a better way to communicate and gain respect? Do you think that would make the world a better place?

The Torygraph is to sports news what Jeremy Clarkson is to diplomacy.

Last week Stacey was going to retire, next week it will be the Daily Mail reporting that Lorenzo is retiring because Stacey is too good.
