Dovizioso is NOT currently in 2nd on the MotoGP points standings. He is actually in 3rd - but with a resurgent Rossi & Stoner both breathing down his neck, points-wise. This could push him furthet down the ladder and the story goes that he has to finish 5th or better to retain his HRC seat. This is now looking more and more dubious - hence the rumour mill kicking into overdrive ...
