Rossi was genuinely stunned at his crash ..

he was looking up the road as if to say WTF ???

hes definitely gone this year

i hope he gets a works san carlo honda! but its looking like a yam

I have to say Ken, it's looking more and more likely that he's off. I didn't think he would, but it's just a waste of time now. Draw a line under it and move on. Tenner says come Valencia he'l still be being promised new parts...

That bike is such a dog.

If Ducati wont do what Rossi asks for them to be successful, who says they will listen to Audi?
30/07/2012 at 13:55
Rossi back on yamaha ftw!
30/07/2012 at 14:15
Will be ironic if Stoner is the only rider to ever have success on the Duke.. seems no one else can ride the POS.
30/07/2012 at 14:39
It's EXACTLY the same issue that has plauged the thing since long before Stoner arrived. So, no one else can ride it. They refuse to accept it's the bike. Case closed.
30/07/2012 at 14:55
why is he only realising this now? i understand his determination to turn the ducati into a competitive bike, but almost nothing has changed since the start of the season, they make steps forward, and get a podium, and then downhill from there again.

Regardless of audi, rossi doesnt have long, and surely your last few years in motogp you would want to enjoy and not sit on the side trying to "develop" a POS that refuses to compete. IM JUST SAYN#

yamaha FTW nvm dovi(lil bi*ch)

Same old story, 'We have a problem' 'I can't ride this bike' blah blah blah.

This is getting annoying now. If they haven't fixed it in 2 and a half years, they're not suddenly going to make it work overnight.

Go to Yamaha/Honda or force an ultimatum (a' la Dovi) that will push Ducati into doing what he says.

Otherwise, stop complaining Rossi, you’ve made your bed now lie in it.

The more I read, the more I'm getting convinced my original "he'll not leave isn't going to happen. In fact, after this weekend, I think he's partially out the door already.
30/07/2012 at 16:14
like i said ... i bet the deals been done for ages

Even Ben Spies said he knew he was leaving ages ago

If Rossi has a factory ride next year it's a complete waste of a bike. People are giving him too much credit for talent he hasn't shown for a long time.

In a moment of tired insanity i decided to watch the F1 highlights last night at about 2am on iplayer. They where saying how ferrari have gone from have an absolute dog of a car at the start of the season to winning multiple races on the bounce and have gained something like 3 seconds back on the other teams since the start of the year.

Ducati just seen to be beyond pig ignorant and just too stuck in their ways to change for anyone.

As far as Vale is concerned, I hope he makes the jump asap out of ducati. Even if hes past it/lost it/ too old blah blah blah ducati don't deserve anything he might be able to do with the bike anyway. Its been said a thousand times but look at the people who have been on that bike and been shown the door because 'its not the bike'.

Ducati need to do themselves a favour stop being for pig ignorant and get their heads out their own sphincters.

Eel ectric, I disagree with you there. He still has enormous talent. Remember that the bike that Stoner won on was several models ago. Everything they did since his championship win made it worse and even Casey could not get consistent results after that.

Whether or not Rossi could win the championship again on a Yamaha or even a Honda is not certain but he could do a whole load better than he is now and perhaps bring some interest back into the class which is now as exciting as F1 (or less). Thank heavens for Motos 2 and 3, World and British Supers - all of these, in my view, are more exciting to watch.

Ah, Mr Stealth, I didn't see you there until you were gone.

To the Rossi's lost it / motoGP is dull comments:

Tell me who is going to be more competitive on a factory bike than Rossi next year, accept for Lorenzo and Pedrosa? No one. Stoner leaving is a serious loss of talent. Last weeks duel and pass on Lorenzo was excellent entertainment. If Rossi isnt riding a factory yamaha, it will be Lorenzo beating pedrosa by 6 seconds every race, and it will be boring then. Rossi has to be in there for enterntainment, for I don't think he'd win too many, but he'd mix it up a lot. Marquez might do a bit, but I think he'll be in the next group mostly.

Ducati have offered Rossi a shit load of money to stay apparently, like a serious shitload. If he leaves its a pretty bad look for them, not a reputation they want.

oh, and Rossi will be at yamaha. he brings sponsorship. You may notice they dont have one at the moment.

Its a sad sorry state of affairs at Ducati at the moment, maybe next year a Stoner autobiography will come out and show us whats really goes on behind those red shutters?

Mobus has said again what we've all (including him) have been saying for months. So, lets draw a line. VR's going. What on EARTH are we all gonna jibber on about after this?

As regards to Moto GP being dull, right now, at THIS moment, yes, yes it is. I actually enjoy qualifying more than races for the premier class these days. Moto 3 and Moto 2 and WSBK and BSB are keeping me interested.

I'll be glad of a resolution one way or another. The whole question over who's going where is overshadowing the business on track right now, and that's a real shame IMO.

I have real concerns over the future of the sport either way. CRT is a load of wank, and Stoner leaving is a massive loss to the class. As somebody said above, who's going to challenge Lorenzo? I bet even he would be bored!

Bring on Lorenzo Vs Rossi again, it was fun last time! OK I still think Lorenzo would have the edge, but it would at least be something to watch.
31/07/2012 at 20:29
1. Retire and do something else (cars, WSB)
2. Go to Yamaha
3. Stay with Ducati and pray

It would be funny if Yamaha took him back that would fry Lorenzo's brain I reckon if Rossi was close, not that he would admit it. But unless Rossi is even more remarkable than we recognise I Can't see him being a challenger for the championship again. He could be a lot closer. Trouble is by the time he settles in a new team and sorts his head out after Ducati age will start to factor even more.

Well guys I've read your fantasy team for next year, so I thought I would put by thoughts to you all
1) Rossi stays at Ducati for 1 year contract, rumour that its a 70M Euro deal, then retires from MotoGP and drives for Audi!
2) Rossi goes to Yamaha to try and win a race or even MotoGp World championship at 34? Lorenzo 26! mmmh best of luck with that idea, I believe Rossi is terrific racer but it would be a tough challenge on an identical machine to Lorenzo.
3) Gressini Honda disgiused as a Works Honda, mmh like the sound of this go and win the World Championship and dedicate it to 'Super Sic'then retire from GP and go car racing.

What about Dovi & Crutchlow, granted Dovi's results have been better than Cal's, but if my memory recalls Dovi had a works Repsol Honda a while back but IMO didnt really set the paddock gossiping on his performance so why would it be any different next year on a Yamaha, Give Cal the chance on the works Yamaha, 1 year contract with an option for another year depending on his podium results.
