Just can't understand how Kawasaki keeps missing the mark. BRING BACK THE EX500! Insurance is cheaper. You have a better seating position for sport touring and with the right aftermarket full lower fairing ( Lockheart/ Targa ) the bike looks sweet! In this day and age older guys like me need a good looking sport tour bike thats quick, cheap and comfortable, and Kawasaki has NOTHING good in a 500cc bike right now! Don't even mention that ugly a.. Versys, what a dog to look at! I used to own an EX500, best all around bike you can get for a newbee to intermediate rider. Kawi needs to get people in the door and started on a bike like that again and then let them move up to a serious sport bike as they gain experience. I am a part time rider and don't need a rocket like a ZX6R or ZX10R (don't get me wrong I have ridden a ZX10R and it's a blast but not practical for touring...Old guys don't like to be hunched over all day long). I realize California has had EPA issues with the old EX500 but come on can't Kawi use there fuel injection & other experience to solve the problem on the old 2 cylinder and offer an updated bike? Really Kawasaki corporate needs to reopen the old EX500 files and take a look at an opportunity to sell a new 500cc line up. Thanks for the forum and a chance to voice an opinion.
