What they don't tell you until you're about to set off is that you have to go out with police bikers and wear a hi-vis bib!
Totally ruined it for me - not because I wanted to go absolutely thrashing it but because on a test ride, you want to concentrate on getting a feel for the bike and trying it out in different situations OF YOUR CHOOSING, not looking at your speedo and focusing all your attention on following another bike.
I'll stop moaning soon but the other aspect to it is that the police bikers (presuming they were on paid time) seemed to be on a right old jolly - taking up most of the test rides themselves and sitting in the Kawasaki tent soaking up the hospitality. I take that back if they were there in their own free time but I doubt it.
Don't get me wrong - I'm not anti-police and I presume the idea was forced on Kawasaki as a condition of running test rides out of a race meet with beer tents etc, just wish they'd been up front about it.
