Put WD40 on a chain? Are you mental? Have you seen what happens to rubber seals if WD40 is left on for any length of time? This is TERRIBLE advice.

Same comments dont take petrol anywhere near your chain it wil ruin your o ring seals, better using an oil based product like diesel
I also find an oil based cleaner like white spirit leaves black plastic parts like side panels, mirrors and indicator housings bright and dark rather than the usual shady white misting after a wash

ACF50 is the only way to go for corrosion resistance, but don't get it on your brakes.
