Motorcyclists in Surrey are invited to take part in a series of meetings of the 'Surrey Motorcyclists Forum', the first of which will take place at 8.00pm on Monday, January 26 at Grosvenor House, London Square, Guildford. Meetings will continue to take place at 8.00pm every Monday evening for the following seven weeks.

Surrey County Council has appointed TRL Limited, the Transport Research Laboratory, to work with local motorcyclists to devise strategies to reduce motorcycle casualties in Surrey and make motorcycling a favourable option. Riders will be asked to raise their concerns regarding motorcycling in Surrey and suggest ways in which these could be overcome. For example, what can be done to make motorcycling in Surrey safer and more convenient?

Posted also in general, so I shall delete this one shortly.
If you are in the area, and have a view it's worth attending.

Have you thought about contacting the local bike trainers?? Either directly or via representative bodies??

Most of these initiatives are missing the obvious - the riding instructors!!!! (And I don't mean just the IAM and RoSPA!)

I'm not being dismissive but there are about 3 million "what can we do to cut casualty" schemes, all unaware of who else is on the scene, all trying to reinvent the wheel without actually talking to the people who do the job in the first place!

In fairness to SCC, they have in the past contacted the local ATBs, but not had a great deal of success getting them involved.

On the one hand, I can see why, they are trying to run a business in a very tough climate. On the other hand a bit of forward thinking will increase business.

I'm only going because one of my new years resolutions was to fight for what I believe in.

TBH, when you've been running a business all day, turning up to a public bear pit is not going to be high on the list of activities you really want to do...
