Grip worry from anti-pollution idea?

Brief report in today's paper about a trial in London to coat road surface with a chemical to prevent brake dust, tyre particles, etc from becoming airborne and causing air pollution.

Anybody seen any more details? If all the crud is kept down on the road surface, how will that affect grip?

Gloop on the roads does worry me. As usual we seem to be going for odd solutions to the problems. Weird gloop on the roads, and more green taxes rather than a coherent introduction of affordable trams and the likes.
