Last weekend the 848 Challenge series headed to Monza in Italy. The circuit is amazing, the atmosphere is the place is unlike any other circuit I've been to, although some parts of Oulton Park come close..
We had three morning trackday sessions and then three practice sessions in the afternoon. Plenty of time to get used to the track and get some good times in. You might think.
I was up for it but my 848 had other plans. It was getting stuck in 6th gear, which you find yourself in three times a lap. I couldn't shift back when I wanted to and often ran into the 2nd gear chicanes in 4th or whatever gear I could grab.
Talk about frustrating..
For a prime example of my downshift issues, check out from 1m50s onwards. I'm on the brakes, looking to go from 6th to 3rd and can't get out of 6th, eventually, I have to admit defeat and tip into the corner..
Hope you enjoy the footage.
