A MAN HAS appeared in court in Folkestone for allegedly attempting to have sex with a Suzuki.

Kevin Chapman, 33, from Ashford, who is said to be a mechanophiliac, reportedly exposed himself in public and tried to make sweet love to a blue GSX-R on March 27, after previously being seen punching and kicking the bike on the same day.

Mr Chapman’s tempestuous relationship with the bike may be due to the fact that he was allegedly drunk on the day of the incident and had been taking drugs.

In court, he claimed to remember dropping his trousers but denied exposing his genitals and getting frisky with the bike. He also denied hitting the bike and said that some homeless people pushed him in to it.

Chapman pleaded not guilty to indecent exposure and criminal damage. He will face trial on June 13.

Mechanophilia, where a person is sexually attracted to cars, motorcycles, helicopters, ships, planes and other vehicles, is a crime at the UK and if found guilty, perpetrators can be placed on the sex offenders' register.
