A MAN accused of riding his scooter for around a mile on the pavement has had a dangerous driving charge dropped – and his name is Jammy Dodger.
The man, who changed his name to Jammy Dodger by deed poll, denied riding his Lexmoto Milano 125 on a cycle and footpath and pleaded not guilty to dangerous driving at Exeter Crown Court.
The case against the 37-year-old Exeter man has been discontinued by the Crown Prosecution Service.
Dodger was charged after a passenger in a car filmed a learner rider travelling on a pavement for around a mile at up to 30mph on Bridge Road in Exeter on July 21.
Jay Carter told the Express & Echo: "I saw him mount the pavement to avoid the traffic and he must have been going at least 30 mph.
"He nearly hit two of the pedestrians and clipped a dog's nose while he was driving up.
"I then decided to start filming and he was waving at me.
"He seems like he wasn't bothered.
"His driving was absolutely crazy and extremely dangerous and it was lucky that people were not killed, just to save himself a couple of minutes of traffic."
